Where the magic happens...
The Greater New Orleans Port Safety Council is a diverse group of government agency and private corporation employees, owners, and individuals that come together for the purpose of promoting safety and security in navigation on the Lower Mississippi River. Our members include representatives from a variety of industries and professions that are involved in transportation and maritime commerce, including international shipping, barge fleeting, towing, security services, terminals and refineries, education, consulting, attorneys, and many more. All interested stakeholders are always welcome.
Our meetings are a place to share information, meet other industry professionals, and learn about industry trends and changes. We welcome everyone that wants to participate. The typical meeting format includes updates from our government partners and presentations on what is currently impacting transportation and safety in our area. Additionally, we frequently have guest speakers that will present to our membership about current events, topics of general interest and concern to the maritime community, or specific incidents and issues that have impacted or have the potential to impact the community.
